I want to set up slideshows with background audio e.g. crowd roaring in slideshow of sports photographs, noise of waves with landscape photos at beach etc. etc.
Can anybody recommend (preferably on the cheaper side ;)):
1. A digital stereo sound recorder
2. Professionally looking slide show software

For Audio clips I use a basic digital recorder Sony ICD-P620 It comes with software for converting to the format you need. I think I paid between $50-$70. Maybe less. It has features I don't even use.
For crowd audio, try this link. http://www.soundscalpel.com/
I have bought other sound from them to use in my slideshows.
One of the most popular programs for making slideshows is ProShow Gold and the more expensive ProShow Producer (the extra price is worth it)
