Ok, I did my raw conversion and saved to TIFF format. Opened up in PS CS2, adjusted levels and saturation, did some USM to get ready for print, wanted to save as a jpeg for printing, but in the PS save as format list there is no jpeg format??
I am starting to think I should have stayed with Paint shop Pro.
How do you save a tiff file as a jpeg?

I'm not sure about CS2 but in CS if you're still in 16 bit, you can't save as JPEG.

You'll need to convert it to 8bit, since jpeg can only represent 8bit levels. You may also want to convert to sRGB color space while you at it.

Also, if you created any new layers, you'll probably have to flatten the document before saving it.

thanks all. that of course was it, I had initially saved in 16 bit Tiff. Once I changed to 8 bit then Jpeg was available.
Layers? :) give me a break, that's next weeks subject; )

Thanks guys.
so much to learn.

I think you can reasonably assume that PS CS2 can do just about anything you want it to, you just need to learn how.
