Looks like Shrek approves. LOL your avatar is looking right at him.
No getting off the hook now. You're the official neighborhood photographer.
At least they're asking someone who knows what he's doing. :-)
Well done. Cute baby

Hey mark great pics..
My brother in law and wife recently had a baby and they have asked me to take photos of their new born.
Can you provide a learner with some guidelines on what to look out for? Ill most likely be shooting with my 50 1.4?
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Nabil -
Thank you very much. Don't know much I could help you as I've only been doing this less than a year myself. One thing that I like to do when photographing newborns is not to use a lot of flash photography. If it's possible, place the baby by a large window or sliding door, so you can have lots of available light. If you use any flash, bounce it off the ceiling and dial it down approx -1/3 to -2/3. Hope that helps.. . . good luck!

Very nice work. The photos are good too!
Babies are just wonderful subjects for the camera. No such thing as a really bad shot.
I was wondering about flash and new borns. Sounds like you've got it covered. Really, nice work here. They will love these pictures for a lifetime.

Mark, I am really impressed by your photos. I work in a maternity ward, so I see photos all the time...and they are challenging. I like how you got all three of them in that shot - and managed to catch the baby as the focus. Too often you get snapshots where the baby is lost in receiving blankets. Very intimate photos.
Thanks for sharing.
