New Tokina arrived

I received excellent service from Warehouse Express (uk).
ordered the Tokina 80 - 400 on Wednesday 25th @ 4.00pm and it arrived the following day @10.00am.

i have only had a few minutes to test it out, here are 2 Quick "snaps" taken in my garden. Bird House is approx 40 feet & TV Aerial is about 50 feet (and on top of the neighbours house of course)

i will test it out fully over this weekends holiday.

I guess the shot was handheld. It lacks a tad of sharpness for me but nice contrast and colour looks about right. It's not flat, which I find a problem on some lenses. Seems good value and a very useful range. Not so keen on the second shot.

Look forward to seeing some bird shots. The tricky thing is capturing the 'life' and 'character' of an animal as well as the form :lol: Some shots are sharp, but dead!

Hi Condyk

I was very pleased with the price i received, especially as the buyer drove 80 miles the same day to collect and pay in cash.

Equally impressed with Warehouse Express (http://www.warehouseexpress.com/) they delivered next day and the price of £359.99 was £150.00 cheaper than i was quoted in the local Photo shops.

yes both shots were handheld from my bedroom window. so there was no preperation or thought into the "snaps", i just took them to make sure the lense worked.

will be out over the weekend so i hope to take a few "Photos" as against "snaps". but initialy i am happy with the lense.

i used to own a Canon 100 - 400L IS, and that was a much bigger lens, i am pleased with the size and weight of this one.
