I got a question for you , more seasoned veterans of working with models.
Everytime I've worked with models (of course, non-professional ones)...I almost have to do the whole work. I have to tell them how to pose, turn the head this way, that way, smile more, smile less, don't do that face, etc...Most of the times, the poses that they think look great, thru the viewfinder they don't.
Do professional models do all the poses without "assistance" or are they such a handful, too ?
Regards

You like it when a woman takes control Freddy? :)
Seriously though, Every professional shoot I've seen (I have no experience shooting one myself), I have seen the model "dance" somewhat or take change poses fairly quickly giving the photog as many options as possible. I have also seen shoots where the photog does all the directing. I guess it is all about the shot you want and how confident the model is.
This probably has a lot to do with the experience of the model as well. Thier inept to pose "correctly" may stem from an underlying self confidence issue.
Make them feel pretty Freddy, cause you know that they are........:D

You certainly seem to have a knack for getting them in the right pose.
I don't know about professional models, but my wife is the artist in our family and she directs our 'subjects' in portrait shoots. Our son and I handle the lights and camera end, she sets the scene. And with the automatic function of the equipment today I sometimes wonder what I'm really there for.

The few that I have worked with were different. Some more comfortable in their own skin than others. I find that music helps open them up and get the creative side flowing. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be though, that's for sure.

most pro or semi pro models know how to move and change there look and its a great help when they have a good ider of what there doing and i agree background music helps too .
there portfolio can give an ider of how they may work for you by the photos all being a little diffrent.
yes it cost's but they can really lift one's photography .
