These are some that I took during one of the local photography meet, theme was to use a wide angle prime. I snapped on my 35L and went for the shoot. The most challenging part is the people shots with 35mm on a FF...I literally have to walk up almost to their face to get it.

Cruising around downtown in the early morning, I found a hole in the north wall of the Gardens where the construction equipment enters.

The first fence was easy to get past on the left side. Security showed up after a couple of minutes and shouted me away.

The sight inside sure brings back memories.

Whoa, where is this in toronto? Those balconies look really worn out.

In the apartments close to Thorncliffe condos. Around Overlea Blvd. They seem to be inhabited mainly by recent immigrants....kids playing cricket rather than baseball and hockey.

Phil, these are all terrific! For me, the (invisible) fountain pic is special. At first glance, I assumed your subjects were kids because of the looks of wonder and delight. Then, I realized they were young teens -- an age at which being entertained by something as mundane as a fountain just ain't cool. But you got 'em! And in a dynamic composition! I'd like to see a bit of the fountain to provide context but their faces are so interesting that it still works.

BTW, I'll add my congratulations for the National Geographic selection. Beyond that, what you're doing -- working a job and making time to shoot whenever you can -- is an inspiration to me. I keep making excuses rather than pix (:oops:) and want to take what you're doing as an example. Of course I don't live at the "Centre of the Universe" but there have to be interesting images waiting to be made somewhere around here!
