Pop Photo also claimed the original 1Ds (11MP) beat 35mm ISO 100 film for resolution...

Even if it does, ... it takes and $8,000 camera to beat a $6.00 piece of film. I think that says alot about the film.

Heck, I shot photos with my 10D that out-resolves any film I've seen.

I think that the 12+ megapixel full frame sensor cameras have a strong case against 35mm. And in the case of the 1DsMkII I think that claim is well founded. So yeah I would say so. But as it was pointed out, look at the amount of cost and technology it takes. I think film has more to fear from Digital marketing than it does from Digital quality.

Oh God, No! Not another "digital vs. film" war!
I'm going to bed. Wake me up when the shooting stops.
