My first HDR. Picked up an HDR book a month or two ago mostly because it had amazing HDR shots that were not overdone. I suppose up to this point I'd figured HDR just ended up with strange hypersaturated ethereal results, but I was wrong, and that got me interested in it.
Anyway, I went to Maui last month and took this shot at 10,000 feet, at Haleakala Summit. After a day of hiking around in the huge crater, I came back up to the ridge and this was the shot. It seemed like the perfect candidate for HDR, so I went for it. The buildings off to the left are the Observatory they have up there.
