Hi all,
I have these lenses, have the urge to get just one more. I am just asking the members what they would think would round out my kit.

What I have
Camera - 20D

Lenses
50mm f1.4 ef
85mm f1.8 ef
10-22 f3.5-4.5 efs
17-40 f4L ef
24-70 f2.8L ef
28-135 f3.5-5.6 ef
70-200 f2.8L ef
TC 1.4x.

I know I have a lot of overlap but I use all of them; depends on the situation.
Any input is welcome.

Thanks
EricwP.

LOL what kind of photos do you take?

if you are just collecting equipment... purely from a complete mm range point of view, you've already got everything from 10 - 200mm. so a 300mm/f2.8LIS would do nicely. or maybe a macro lens like the 180/f3.5L?

I'd say a nice macro or a long telephoto, something in the 400+ mm range. Depends on what you want to shoot.

How about a 1200 mm f/5.6L

No?? Well on a serious note. It depends what You like to shoot but it seems You got the short range covered so maybe the 400 f/5.6L

It depends of what you want to do and of your budget. What seems to be missing from your bag is a nice long telephoto lens or zoom such as the 100-400 L but it is expensive and you need to make sure that you need it before buying it.

I would say a long prime, say a 300 or 400.

If you prefer zooms the 100-400L.
Maybe try some extention tubes, if you dont have them.
Nice kit BTW.

Quite a bit of overlap with what you already have (by my standards.) Couple there you could sell - do without perhaps? Next might be 100/2.8 USM Macro or 300/4 L IS. Look at my list - I'm biased, but I like it.

You seem to have most basis covered with the exception of macro and long telephoto. I would go for the 100-400, of a good macro.

if you don't know what new lens you need, you don't need a new lens

Sorry for the long reply, the holiday weekend got the best of me!!
I like the macro idea that was suggested. After taking 2 short hikes this weekend, I'm going to go for the macro. I saw some really cool looking bugs, plants, flowers, etc, so the macro it is going to be. I'll have to be content with my 200mm f2.8 and the 1.4TC for the zoom end.

I thought about selling some of the lenses, but never seem to get around to actually going through with it, don't know why.
Anyway thanks for all of the suggestions and help.
