The last few mornings I've been getting up at 5 or 6 am and spending a couple of hours before work capturing a few bird shots. These are 3 I like from this morning, in fact they were pretty much the only two birds I saw in 2 hours of sitting and watching. If anyone from the UK can identify these 2 birds please do, although I'm sure the 2nd one is a Sparrow I can't find the 1st one in my bird book?

Wouldn't it have been fantastic if the bee had been in focus :)

All taken using the 400 f/5.6L with a 1.4x extender.

'Sorry I can't help with the i.d. of the birds, but yes, that would've been an awesome shot if the bee was in focus too!!

I might try and capture a bee in flight and then paste it in :)

First shot ,maybe a stonechat or a whinchat.
I'm no expert though.

Very nice shots all the same.

Nice shots, Look like they could be some type of sparrow or maybe a wren. Really not up on the UK birds.

The first 2 shots are just fabulous. The birds are nice and sharp and I really like the background and composition.

Thank you all. So I now know that the top bird is a Stonechat & the bottom bird is a Wren.

Learning all the time :)

they are beautiful shots of the birds:cool:

I love the thorny branch too

the bird seems to be looking after the bee

maybe the bee thought that the bird was a flower
but got pricked off a thorn instead
