No, just natural sun...the bee was partially in the shadows so I had to fill in the shadow a little in lightroom.

I'm thinking about a macro lens, and really want to try this one out. I use a T2i. anyone else have this body and how do you like this lens with it. ?

I am building my len's with the thought of upgrading to FF later down the line once I feel more comfortable behind the lens.

you can use the Macro 100L but it will not gives you the same colors like the 60D or 7D

for example the 60D had a little bit Better color depth even more than the 7D
but the 100L macro good on the 7D for the fast focus

This makes absolutely no sense. The 100L macro has better glass, 9 blades vs 7 on the efs 60, a UD element and hybrid IS, which equals better image quality (sharpness, chrom ab, bokeh, etc, etc, etc) on any camera. The "colour" discussion above has nothing to do with the lenses. My suggestion, invest in superior lenses now and you will be happy you did when you eventually upgrade to a different body.

100L definitely.... I still marvel at its sharpness and it capabilities... not just as a macro, but serves quite well as a 100 prime!

Quick question for you guys that have the lens. I picked mine up from my bag today and noticed it was making this clicking sound when I was putting it on the camera, if I just hold the lens horizontal and move it to vertical, even slowly, it will make the sound. Now I think this is normal and is coming from the IS, but I just don't remember it doing this before. Do yours do it to?

Sure.. that was with F4| 1/250s| ISO-160| Manual metering| no flash| subject distance ~2.5 feet.

Around 30% crop. I stacked two images to get more heads in focus. I wanted to do more but there was a constant breeze flowing so getting a properly focused heads was a little difficult & frustrating. :)

Actually, it does it when the lens is off the camera, like something is looser than it should be inside.

It sounds like the IS mechanism didnt lock before you removed it from the camera, thus the floating IS elements are "floating" around

Turn your camera on, Spool up the IS, wait for it to spool down completely, then turn the camera off and remove the lens

THat should lock the IS, When its happened to me i just got a bit too quick turning my camera off without letting the IS power off first

No, I didn't use any filters for this shot. The flower was facing towards the sun; the golden background is from sunlight falling on parking lot wall. Rest of the tones were enhanced during post processing.

Never done that and didn't have a problem with any camera tested with the lens.. I just make sure that the camera is closed wait a couple of seconds and then remove the lens..

I need an advice from you guys, who already own this amazing lens.

I was wondering if I can use this lens to cover family events? like weddings, christenings, quinceaneras, etc..

Personally I wouldn't want this lens for family events due to two reasons - 1) it isn't particularly fast and 2) It's kinda slow in focusing.

85 1.8 is a much better choice and more balance.

You are better off upgrading your 28-135mm imo.

I would go with the Canon 60mm Macro. As good IQ, wider and much smaller and easier to handle. Both the 100 and the 60 are 1:1 magnification. The big difference is you don't have to be as close to achieve it with the 100 which is important if your shooting something like bugs.

ISO speed = ISO-200

...I used a YN-560 on-cam flash (manual) set to flash power of 70 (not really sure what's the equivalent power to Canon's speedlights)

I've been reading a lot and I'm in love with this lens, but most of the examples are macros shots, so I want to know how works with portraits and with low lights.

At the end of this month I will have my first Christening and I need an advice. Will be good to use this lens for this kind of event ?

...acting as a 2nd Photographer from a recent wedding event, all I can say is this lens is very capable. it can be used for portraits, details, & some behind-the-scene shots. here are some of my takes:
