Useless trivia question......
Canon had models named D30 and D60. More recently 1D, 10D, 20D, 300D, and 350D. Anyone know why the "D" is now tacked onto the end of the number rather than before?

probably to have a naming structure like the film eos's
300n, 300v etc just add the d to the front.

I thought the number followed by a D meant "Digital".

Probably to avoid confusion with Noink's naming convention.

Although it doesn't really avoid confusion, since I've heard more than a few people call the camera the D20.

Just write to Chuck ?? at Canon USA 'D'epartment and ask them. I'd love to see a scan of the reply. And who dictated it.
Maybe the reply turns out to be a Canon collectable. (Put it on eBay and say it is anyway...)

At first the pro line was # followed by "D" and the "affordab;le" models were D followed by # (D30 D60)
1D by the way pre-dats D60,.
The switch was with the 10D.. and this was more in keeping with Canon's naming structure.
