Cropped too tight, I prefer to shoot animals in a more natural looking pose. There's no exif data, so I really can't say much about the settings, but more DOF might work, keep the entire animal in focus, but if only having the face in focus was intentional, you did that very well. Needs level adjustment, and perhaps some saturation. Looks over exposed, the meter is kinda fooled by the dark animal.

Those are the wackiest eyes :)

Thank you...it was intentional to just have the face in focus and I realise the pose was kind of weird but the cat just wouldn't leave me alone and this was the only way I could actually get her in the shot!! The exif was 29mm f2.8, 1/200, iso 200.
Could you show me what you'd do with the levels and saturation...I'm eager to learn! :)

I went into curves selected the blue and pulled it down a bit to remove the cool cast on the feline. then I upped saturation a bit. also moved the middle slider in levels to bring a little more strength to the middle tones. quick job.

Nice play!
De, I like the cat's eyes very much. Good job getting the whole face in focus with that shallow depth of field.

Thanks Mandy...it was just a lucky shot...the cat really wouldn't leave me alone, kept rubbing round, rolling about so in the end I just stood up and took a quick snap! :)

I like the pose, perspective and DOF. I think it really shows the cats character and I immediately thought it looked like the cat was curiously and eagerly looking up at you, trying to get your attention. Sounds like that's exactly what she was doing so you captured the moment and her character accurately. But I agree it could use some post processing though, it's very blue and flat.
