There are a couple of these setups locally that I have seen for sale. Having a hard time finding any information on them, but I like the portability of them. Anyone have any knowledge or opinion on these?

These are older models from Novatron. If you can get a good deal on them, they should be plenty serviceable. Novatrons aren't fancy, but they generally wear like iron. I can't remember when they changed from blue insulators to black insulators, but the older blue versions need to use the older heads, which you should have if the heads come with the packs. If you want to use the later/current heads, you need Novatron's adapter to go from five pin to six pin sockets. I've got some old 330's that still work. They predate the plus series packs. 440s and 880s show up on eBay with some regularity if you want a feel for what they are selling for.

So are they adjustable strobes? The guy selling them bought them from a local shop and never used them...he has no idea what they are but is asking $400 for a 3-light setup with stands, power pack and umbrellas.

They're adjustable to a certain extent, full power, half power and quarter power on the pack. The heads can be adjustable if they're the right kind. Honestly, I wouldn't pay $400 for them. Some of the older packs are no longer being repaired by Novatron due to a lack of parts.
