New S40 battery dies after a day

Hi

I bought an 800mah S40 batterey on EBAY...charged up ok...take a few of shots...than on the next or day after...I get the red low battery warning. It does not seem to be able to hold a charge...

Is this battery toast or do NIMH need some kind of conditioning? I have only charged it twice now with the same results - so it is quite new...

I too bought a new S45 and had the same problem initially. Yes.. the Battery has to go thru few (7-8) Charge/Discharge Cycles before it has reached it full capacity.

thanks for the tip...I'll report my success/failure...I am at #4 discharge now...


ps...do you like the S45? I have an S40 and wondered if the differences were significant or at least worth the extra $...
