I just bought a NexStar Hard Drive Dock and a 1TB hadd for it. For the last two days, I have been copying my sports photos to it. It's almost half full. When I get through, I plan to pull the drive and put in another one. It's working good for me. Comes with a USB and an eSATA cable and adaptor bracket for the back of your PC if you don;t already have an eSATA port.
Search Google for "Nexstar hard Drive Dock" $39 at Fry's Electronics locally.
Hope this helps.

I recently bought the Rosewill RX-358-S (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817173042) and also the Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153071&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-) and both work great. I really like the Hot-Swap Capability of the Thermaltake BlacX plus you can use hd's up to 2TB. I hope this helps.

So you can Hot-Swap drives from the case, just like a server?

I'm not sure about the server thing but I hot-swap several hd's using the Thermaltake BlacX. It's really convenient and easy for me just to swap out my 4 different sized hd's but they do have to be SATA hd's.
Another thing I like is being able to use either 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA hd's.

I just got the same one. Works flawlessly and is hot swappable. Turn it off, swap out the drive, turn it on.

I have 8 of -->THESE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153061)<-- each with a 1 TB drive. Just be careful what drive you buy. Just because it is cheap does not make it a good buy.

I have a few NexStar external cases for SATA drives - three for 3.5" drives and one for a 2.5" drive. In May 2008 I tried one of the hot swapable ones from NexStar. It proved unreliable in a few days, and I exchanged it for one of the regular external cases. That was a year and a half ago. Maybe I just had a bad one; maybe they've improved. The others have worked fine.
