from a shoot tonight, mostly fetish work w/ her... this was the start of the shoot... much more dramatic lighting and poses coming later this weekend

yes i know horizontal headshots are normally bad, but i like this - cropped to 8x10 as well

1 strobe on background, directly to camera left by the model w/ grid, keylight into silver reflector about 15' from model, off to camera left

I like the pose and the whole 'look' of the shot, but am not keen on the background colour.

Lighting is good. Composition is good also. I"m having a problem with the background color - its not working well with the red tints in her hair and the red "blush" streak across her cheek.........you might want to shoot this in a different environment or really use the juxaposition of what we expect in a studio shot as "glamour" photography vs. her actual look (which is tough, beat up, worn yet beautiful). You play off all that plus the fact that she's got a pretty gender-bending look. Could be a boy.
I'm curious as to why you calling this a fetish shot......I shoot fetish/bdsm and for me, I wouldn't call this fetish....but thats my baggage of language.

this is the lead into the shoot, which was fetish based... i look fwd to hearing your hearing your comments on future work from this shoot... as for the gender bending, yes, she (the model) likes the androngious look
