Cowboy - CC Please

Just a few shots with the grandson and his first gun (parts removed until he is legally allowed to hunt). He is almost at the age where I won't be able to convince him to put on stuff like this so I can practice... lol. Critique welcome

Nice photos, Kathy. I think a little fill flash might of added some defintion to the rifle in the first one and may have aided the exposure in the second one (it could just be my monitor). The water reflection likely gave you a light reading that led to slightly underexposing the subjet. But I really like these.

They both look soft to me, as #2 is a posed shot I would have got rid of the tall grass.
Was he wearing cowboy boots?,, if so would have made a nice touch to see them.

Thanks for the comments - I am still working on focus and don't always get as sharp as I want - but... I will keep trying:)
