77mm B+W Kaesemann circular polarizer: slim or non slim?

Hello photographers,

I'm thinking of getting the Nikkor 17-55mm 2.8 lens, and would also like a B+W Kaesemann circular polariser for it. What I am wondering about is: is it necessary to get the slim Kaesemann, or would the regular one do?

If I understand correctly, the slim version prevents vignetting on wide angle lenses; but I'm still wondering whether vignetting will occur at 17mm, if I use the regular version.
For any given lens, what is the absolute minimum focal length at which the regular Kaesemann won't produce some vignetting?

we don't know which camera you are using, and crop factor could make a huge difference.

my canon FF camera does not vignette @ 16mm with regular CPLs but i've never used the filter you mention and it could make a difference. also, it could be different with nikon lenses.

I get no vignetting AT ALL even at 10mm with my regular CPL.

My camera is the Nikon D300, which is a DX camera.

I said I wonder if the 77mm regular Kaesemann will vignette at the 17mm focal length of the 17-55mm Nikkor. And now that I think about it, I also wonder if it will vignette on:

- 16mm focal length of the 16-85mm Nikkor
- 11mm focal length of the 11-16mm Tokina
