Uhhhhhh......... 911 ring a bell? There was alot of scrutiny as to what people were photographing since the terrorist strikes......the police and feds were interrogating anyone that was taking pictures of metro transit, federal buildings, etc. Quite often peoples cameras and or film/media were taken.

I understand, I am from Israel and terrorist strikes is one thing that we (unfortunatly) know very well... but i had no problem with the police...

Sorry, didnt mean to shout.......(I only wanted the 911 in larger text). God bless to you in Israel, I wish we could all live in peace....you certainly have witnessed hell on earth.....but the before mentioned incident is why our homeland security is a little aprehensive (Im surprised your security forces arent as defensive).

Again, God Bless :D

BTW....I like #2........Sweet! Nice Lines!

yes - the metro police had orders to detain anyone photographing the subway system... that order was just resended this week and now it is a more general anyone acting suspicious will be detained and questioned regarding their intent. Fortunately is was a ruling that wasn't inforced all that often. Were just learning to deal with the issues you all have had to deal with for some time - and laws are being tweaked. Cheers!

Photography and literature can be considered weapons in dictatorships. Consider North korea. Ick. Owning a camera and using it in public would be dangerous to your an your family. Also, owning a typewriter or computer perhaps. Hello 1984. The ability to document facts in writing or in photos is a weapon for freedom. George Orwell noted that no great novel or art comes from totalitarian cultures. Just nothing but utilitarian buildings, 'hero' statues and legoland dorm suburbs. Hello Cuba!

There can be no such thing as too many phones, TVs, Digicams, and PCs in the ME!
