Hello all - I'm new here, been a lurker for awhile, and this is my first post! Thanks to all the great talk around here, it's been a great time reading. I even used most of your comments to map out my next lense purchases. We have a Tamron 28-75mm (aa bb cc dd, a whole lot of letters after it) on order, and our next purchase will be the 70-200 f/4L lense. It should make a great combo - already my wife is saying to go ahead and get the 70-200mm. And can you believe it? I'm saying no! :o The 20D set us back a bunch and we're taking it slow!
This is our first forray into SLR photography, and so far we love it. Our old camera (POS) used to take forever from the time you hit the fire button until the picture actualy took. With the 20D, it's almost instant, and so much so that we filled up a 1GB card the second day we got it - full! My wife loved the "rapid fire" picture mode, and we've been able to get some awesome pictures of our pup. When the zooms come in, we're going to expand to mallards, and landscape scenery - I can't wait!
Here's a couple of our first shot, and thanks for this great board!
Only post-processing done was a small bit of Unsharp Mask applied at 108/.6/1 in Fireworks.
