hope this is the right section for this.

I'm working on a website which will be called www.marcellech.com (http://www.marcellech.com) (my name) hosted by smugmug for my photos/videos

I just wanted some feedback on the simple logo i created using my name which i would watermark my photos with when they hit the web.

I flipped one of the L's around facing the other L to make it look more interesting (also kinda of like a camera). If you guys were going to type that site in would you know, just making sure that part doesn't confuse anyone.

thanks in advance,

If I had to type in the address indicated by the logo I would end up using a "J" instead of an "L" and I might also end up entering the "dot" in the center into the address if I was not familiar with the internet.

just my point of view, please don't take it personally.

As I read the image, yes I did pick out the correct url. But it's on the edge, I wouldn't be surprised if a number of your clients would get it wrong.

I wouldn't have caught what should be obvious - the actual spelling. Maybe try shading two L's so the reversed portion of the "L" appears in a different color or shade so the vertical lines look like the double L and you could maybe still get the mirror image effect to work? Clever idea but I'm not sure the backwards L wouldn't be misinterpreted as a J like MMS mentioned. IMHO, it could be confusing.

The idea is coming through in the black and white version but it needs something to bridge the two L's so it looks like part of the same word. Maybe the two blue dots could be inserted inside the "C" letters and you could put the two L's together? The black background enhances the lettering and the blue looks really good with black and white. Try that?

I personally like the black one. Not a fan of the first one.

Could you do two capital L's nested inside each other?

in your first example, I would have gone to marceljech.com. In your second, it's better but I'm afraid too many people would try to add the space to the name, or any dash or anything you try to add to it.

I threw this together in about 1 minute so it's really crappy (an I'm no graphic designer to begin with) but maybe something along these lines...
