Great pictures, I like that they are really vibrantly colored. I love the one of the snake but I have to say I will probably never be able to capture one like that cause my camera would end up in the dirt and I'd be out of there. How close were you?

I was using my canon 30d with a 70-200 f4 and I didnt crop at all. I was around 4 or 5 feet away. Just outside of the striking distance. I haven't been out to get pics since mid summer, a baby almost bit me(I was just hiking), so I am waiting tell I Get snake boots.

You are brave, not me thats for sure- I dont live in state where there are bad snakes and I have a hard time visiting because I am afraid they will fall out of a tree on my head or something. I could go to the zoo and take pictures of the snakes behind the glass. LOL!
