Posted about problems I was having with this bit of kit a while back and now it has finally quit working completely. All lights are on... tried 3 different batteries (2 brand new)... unit appears fine but when i press the 'pilot' button it's not firing a pulse anymore. I've had it for a couple of years so I am sure it is a problem with the unit rather than user error.
Authorised Canon repair centre want £90 to fix it which seems extortionate to me. A new unit isn't much more than this.
Anyone know a cheaper way to fix it?
Otherwise, what options are there for a wire linkage between the hotshoe and external flash? (I never have the flash more than about a metre away from me anyway).
