Yes, this is real.
Not that great of a shot, but its a cool place. Just got my SD400 out when it came in to land. To the left where that yellow sign is, there is a bar that actually lists the times that the jumbo jets are scheduled to land at. You can lay on the beach so the planes fly directly overhead as well. I gotta go back with the 40D sometime.

It really was quite amazing. There are signs there warning of Death By Jetwash. Such a beautiful place. To bad I didnt have anything more than my SD400 at the time.

Good catch of a different view than we usually see. All in all though, I'd rather have the beach & the bikinis? ;)

Haha I got those as well stashed away somewhere. I must say though, the nude beaches were NOT very eye pleasing. Now the topless sections, THAT I could deal with ;)

Sure is. Ill see if I can get up pics of the Warning signs when I get home from work. Probably one of the most unique warning signs I've ever seen haha.

Nice shot. Hope they did not empty the toilets from the plane at that height. LOL!

Add the live bands that would play there at night, !E Entertainment being there for "The 100 Most Beautiful Women", and a good group of family and I was in heaven. I will most certainly be going back in the future

Maho beach. Good times. I've got a good amount of these shots from the typical beach/bar location. I'll make a thread soon ;)
Who'd you fly in on?

Ya I drank there a few times and bet on some hermit crab races haha.
Good idea! We should do a thread dedicated to all the different planes landing there.
I believe we flew in on United if I'm not mistaken.

Cool. My dad flies for Continental so I went with him on a quick layover. Sucked we only had a day there but I'll be going back for the busy season (hopefully)!

Ah ya only a day there is no where near enough. I think I was there for a week or 2 and traveled around most of the island.

That is the place we ended up staying at and I HIGHLY recommend it. The owner actually lives in the "basement", which is actually more like a house beneath this one, when people are staying in the house. At first that seemed a little odd but we never saw him and his wife unless they were helping us out. They even have a native banana tree which they supply the house with fresh bananas when ripe (which btw were the most amazing bananas I have ever eaten). Also the various artwork and carvings and furniture in the house are out of this world. The thousands upon thousands that must have gone into decorating is unbelievable. The owner said he buys a lot of the stuff while traveling the world and has it shipped back to this house.
