I thought they frowned on pictures in a casino? If not I wish I had taken my camera inside on a couple of trips...

Nice pics and I also thought you couldn't bring a camera into a casino, very cool. Brings back good memories:-) I can just hear the slot machines now:-)

Those are great pictures. I really like the long exposures.

I thought they frowned on pictures in a casino?

I particularly like the abstract nature of No 3 and the red tail lights in the last one.

Thanks everyone :)

I was happliy wandering around the casinos with 300D, battery grip and all taking pics and no one batted an eylid. I looked for signs that said no photos but could't see any.

Here's a few more from Vegas...

what a great collection of photos.... I really like the Elvis one and the one at the Japanese Restaurant - the motion blue is nice. Great job.

Really superb images. Love the long exposures but not the zoo shots. As for shooting in a casino, it must differ from place to place. I shoot a lot at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, and normally wear a casino picture ID badge (and an All Access badge at events) and even then the guards who don't know me on sight shoot right over and VERY politely tell me I can't bring a camera into the casino ... until they see my badge and often make a radio call. I have seen people get quite upset that they can't bring cameras in, but security is always VERY polite and VERY firm about it. Hehe, I've had customers see me with a camera and warn me that the guards will not be pleased. I always smile and say, "Thank you, but I work here."

How did you manage to upload so many pics at a time??

For those of you that believe taking photos in casino's is prohibited...you're right. While it may not be posted management typically frowns on it. They base it upon the privacy of their guests and it typically applies to the gaming areas only! Near the foyers and other "interesting" places you'd be okay to shoot!

I work in a casino on the Las Vegas strip and you can take some photographs in the casino as long as you don't use a flash around the card tables. We don't let pro's photograph with out permission. The hotel has invested big money into their name and controls all rights to it. If the photographs show up on television or in a paper (ect) without permission, look out. Any professional photography or video must go through the publicity department. If you get permission you can photograph anything you want, just about. If you want to take a few photographs of the casino and don't know if you can just ask a security officer in that casino. Just a small FYI for you all.

Very cool. I like the way you captured a lot of the moods and moments of that very fun city.
