So, I posted earlier, but it disappeared. Maybe I forgot to hit send b/c the doorbell rang!

I am in the process of beginning to take paid jobs, and I really need fresh eyes. I'm thick skinned, and want to learn, so let me have it.

This is from a mother/daughter shoot.

These were all taken on an overcast day with a 35L lens.

It helps to post your photos as individual pictures and numbered. Here, I am going to have to go out of my way to describe the photos as I critique them.

Top left: I don't like the crooked angle. Perhaps you were trying to make it look cool with the tilt, but I don't think it works with all the other straight lines in the photo (the bricks, wall, etc). Also, I wouldn't normally put someone right up against a wall like that. Here it's not THAT bad. It's kinda cute. I am little confused about why she is holding her hands out like that, but it looks like she is having fun.

Top right: Overexposed and should either be fixed or thrown in the trash if this is the best you can get it. The plant adds some depth, but it's not very interesting depth. I'd rather a shot without the plant in the way.

Bottom left: Very good shot. Probably the best in the series. I might have framed it a little different so we don't see the people in the background. My eye goes down the wall and to the people. I would have moved right two steps, recomposed, and all that stuff would be gone. But then it might look like the wall was falling on her, so I don't know.

Bottom right: Looks like she is squinting in the sun light. I would toss this one and shoot in less extreme light conditions.

Middle right: This is OK but again we have a crooked perspective when we have all these other straight lines in the photo. I'd straighten it out. Also, I don't know why that window is so important that it takes up 80% of the frame. I guess it looks cool. I don't know.

Thanks! Those were some great suggestions and I am going to try to incorporate them next time around. Much appreciated, thanks for looking.
