How do you find this stuff? It's uncanny!

That's weird. I wonder what it was doing there. It kind of looks like Mark Twain, too.

and you see only what's on the ceilinghttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I said 15th century
apologies ...it's 17th
as it was built in the sixteen hundreds.
(what's a century or two between friends )

the owner has built it to being suitable to live in
 (I think)

it is a pub , plus bed and breakfast place in another town not too far away

the fellow who owns it has collected so much stuff
very interesting stuff
and the place already has some stuff there , since the eighteen hundreds.
for example a cog wheel for grain going to the lower floor
and a hook which swung the animals from one floor to another to be slaughtered

and the small windows
it was extra dark in there so I had to use flash when I looked up and saw the coffins
21st birthday party's (or others) are held in that loft

I hope that coffins aren't an omen of what will come to you if you eat his food at the pub.   Great shots Marie, I love them

ha ha ha
you should see the pub Sandy http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

hard to know which is the customer or which are just old relics hanging about
it's absolutely priceless
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

now that I said that, someone offered the owner five million for it
but he will never sell
he brought me up into the loft to show me his collections http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

it was a complete fluke I was there at all
passing by I heard the cock crow and looked into the yard (in the town) http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
the rest is history .

I saw so many hens, cocks, pigeons, even a peacock and peahen http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
ducks , all kinds (some russian and some rushing about)http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
all feeding together
he drove in , in a jeep , saw me gobsmacked looking at the animals
and took me all around the place

one fellow , the better for drink, told me a story of how the ducks raped their sister http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
they clasped her beak first and threw her on her back
two kept holding her beak shut
while they did the jobhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif

he (the man, a good customer ;) )complained to the owner about this 'treatment'
but he said it was their way,
nothing to be done
( 'I did it my way '... like in the song .. frank sinatra ) http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

what a heap of stuff all around (alive and dead) http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
and stories ..no doubthttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I love life's surprises and this just about beat the lot
