Both are V-Spec. The R33 has 777whp on race gas, the R34 has over 400whp on pump gas.

lol, but they're called 'skylines' in japan :p besides the g35 is supercharged and making well over 400whp also. yeah, this wasn't an exclusive meet. my buddy recently picked up the r33 and decided to get together for a small shoot :)

edit: the g35 has 557rwhp 563rwtq

Nice shots, too bad about the background in that last shot, but you can't always pick your location now can you ...

Would love to see more of these cars around here in Europe, but they are very scarce where I live.

Bill gates can get ALMOST anything street legal, even while adding more HP and smog legal... I've seen r32's on the streets of Sanjose.. right hand drive too..

lol no he can't. no amount of money will allow the DOT to turn their head.

there are several imported GTRs here in the states thanks to Motorex. cept Motorex got in major trouble and many got stolen, trashed, crushed, and the ones that survived were given "immunity" into the country.

Nice shots, nice cars. I know a few people that own skylines r32-r34, from what iv heard you do have to pay a lot of money to get them here, and the way they do it, is register them as 240sx or silvia, they part them out and then put it back together, complicated.//

Don't need to be Bill Gates. My friend is 19 and just ordered a brand new GT-R. Should be to him by middle of November. :)

Dedicated penny saver though. haha.

Awesome cars!

Great series of images on the link you gave to FlickR. I have always thought that skylines had a lot to offer to a photographer compared to a lot of sports cars.

I think he was the one that had some very expensive cars sent to DOT crash testing, that the MFG's would not submit them selfs, because they loved them too much to have them crashed.. He may have had something to do with getting the porsche 959's legalized with the help of Bruce Canepa.

I know they got shut down.

Some people just asked how he got them into the states.

The Op never said how it got here.

Just stating that there was a company that did import them.

That is correct

The only legal ones are R33s

the R34s that came in as a "kit car" are in hiding from ICE right now.

I went years with out ever seeing a "real" skyline. Then all of a sudden last year some random guy that buys and sells mustangs and muscle cars randomly had 6 Supras, an RX-7 and an R32 skyline and a few weeks later a local import car lot had an R33. Beautiful cars.

Love looking at photos of them as well, I would love to see an R34 one day. I like those GTR's that they sell now too, but they just dont like the same as the older ones.
