I have the impact air cushioned 10ft light stand right now for my bees. I'm thinking about getting their giant softbox and giant octabox. does anyone know if the 10ft can handle this or do i need to get the heavy duty 13ft?

anyone tried using this? thanks.

13' heavy duty is HIGHLY recommended

The Imapct 9.5ft and 13ft Heavy Duties are the same, one is just taller than the other. I am not sure if the 10ft you have is Heavy Duty.
But I will surely recommend either the Impact 9.5ft or the 13ft Heavy Duty Air-cushioned ones depending on the height you want and don't forget the sanbags.

Check this...does the 13' have a wider leg base than the 10'?

This is (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/359883-REG/Impact_2218ABS_Air_Cushioned_4_Section.html) what I saw on their website. I don't really need anything taller than 10ft. but if the impact 10' and the 13' are the same in terms of sturdiness then i'll just use my 10ft. I just thought the 13 is sturdier than the 10'

These are the ones I am talking about.. if the description did not say Heavy Duty, then it's not. before I bought the stands I personally went to B&H and compare them (Heavy Duty vs Non-Heavy Duty (Regular) and you can see and feel the build difference in them, the Heavy Duty are more sturdy in my opinion, I guess that's why they are called Heavy Duty:

The one you showed in your link is a regular 10ft not Heavy Duty. I have couple of the 9.5feet,
I did not get the 13ft because my ceiling is only 8ft high, so no need for the 13ft,

The Impact 9.5' has a wider base (45") than the 13' air cushioned one (36") and would be less susceptible to toppling.

Good catch with the base thing.. I never even looked at this when I acquired couple of those Impact 9.5ft from B&H. Glad I made a good choice without even knowing it.
Thanks.
