Great catch. You shot looks to be underexposed. There are shadows in the shot (church roof) so there must have been some direct sun light. Would suggest just a little change in brightness and color correction. See difference.

Thanks Darrell. The original was straight from the camera. I haven't had much practice with post-processing, so I'll have a go at recreating your version.

You have a great camera. Wish I could afford a SLR. I've got a Canon G2. When I downloaded your shot, I looked at the data to see what F-stop and shutter you used. The histogram for your shot showed heavy to the left side which indicates under-exposure. You might try looking at the histogram on your camera immediately after taking a shot so you can make a quick change to improve.
Still very nice photos. Great location, nicely composed and good focus. With my G2, autofocus occasionally gives me a bad shot, but I'm getting better.

Nice shot. I am distracted by the fact that the image needs to be rotated CCW a tad. Yes, the original is a bit under. Consider bracketing the shots.
