I was thinking of putting my 30D up for sale so I decided to test it at a high school cross-country meet last weekend.

These were shot with Aperture Priority, Center Weighted metering, Center AF, AI Servo mode, 3 fps continuous mode. All shot in RAW and converted using BreezeBrowser Pro.

Too bad the outer focus points on the 30D don't work reliably. For a first time effort I was surprised to get a fair amount of keepers but my timing and anticipation needs some work.

C & C welcome.

Is that a referee smoking a cigarette in the first picture? I know it's Wisconsin but I'm hoping it's a pen he's holding with the notepad and not what it seems like.

The way he's holding it made me wonder .. I saw that before I saw the girl looking up to the sky at something.. or praying.. or whatever, since I've never been to a cross country meet I didn't know they had zebras there so he stood out in the picture.

A lot of smokers I know always went across the bridge to Superior where they could still smoke inside...Interesting on the subject is that Superior's city council decided that bars can serve people outside with a special permit.. but that's enough on the subject ;) back to photography!
