(first post so probably a big n00b question:)
i'm using 1.2.2 and have got it mostly looking how i want it etc. and the DB side of things is all fine in both localhost and online.
I created a new style based on original but renaming it to something else and changed all default references i could find.
I then installed ee into my server space and overwrote with my custom files that i had made changes to. Somehow everything I have done has been ignored and a default layout (original?) is being displayed and my background image/style is being ignored. This is displayed even though i have deleted all indexstyles and styles except my own.
e.g there is no table for the news item in my modified code but the default greyish news table is to the right of the screen with "latest news:' written
e.g I've changed the css to make header text white, which has worked
I've checked paths and permissions and maintained exact file structure between online and offline servers.
I want to get this working before i upgrade to 1.5 as it's a friends site and he needs it running asap and i know 1.2.2 is adequate for his needs right now. Am i doing something stupid? Is there a hidden default somewhere?
This is so frustrating as it's looking great on my machine/borked online and i don't know why:)
