A lens this wide with this amount of distortion probable works better when the subject doesn't contain vertial or horizontal lines

Yes you're right about the distortion, sometimes though, it can be used to good effect.
Are you pleased with the lens so far?
Talk about small world, I thought I recognised the location, I lived in Norfolk for 7 years, until 2 years ago when I moved up here. Do you know Sea Palling and Ludham?

Indeed I DO know those places well!
Not sure about the lens. CA is too strong andd distortion is more than I'd expect from a 24mm equivalent

Have you tried the P.S. "Free" Plug-In to correct distortion and vignetting? Wonder how well it works to correct :http://www.photos-of-the-year.com/barrel-distortion/
