I think I have a good idea for keeping the RS-series straps from falling off your shoulder when you’re holding the camera the problem of course is that every time you take the weight off the strap and move or bend over the shoulder pad slips either in front of to the back of your shoulder which is a real PIA.
I have tried several methods and finally got an idea when I saw one of those slap and wrap Koozies at a trade show. So I took the can Koozie and cut it down the middle to make the width fit the zipper pouch on my RS-5 strap and placed half of it in the pouch. Now when you place the pad on your shoulder the self wrapping metal band in the Koozie conforms to your shoulder and cups it securely to keep it from slipping. I have tried it out a lot and it works very well and can be added to existing straps, however if it was a bit stronger then the one I have it would work better when the pockets are loaded with heavy objects. It also seems to help the comfort as it keeps the whole length of the shoulder pad in contact with your shoulder.
Hopefully I will get a upgrade or a small prize if Black Rapid decides to use this, but for a quick fix everyone can do this now for a little relief from the slipping problem.
