Hi all,
Does anybody have firmware version 1.1.0 for the Canon 20D that you can send me. My searching returns only ver 2.0.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I must be missing something - why wouldn't you want the 2.0 version as it includes all of the 1.1.0 updates? Is there something in 1.1.0 that is left out of 2.0?

Thanks

I'm betting he wants to revert to 1.1 because he's had problems since he updated to 2.0.

Hope he keeps us posted to see if this works. It seems likely there is another anomaly or problem with the camera or software and possibly just with the 2.0 file he installed.

I'd also like to know where I could download version 1.1.0

I swear my images are more noisy/grainy since I updated to 2.0.0, but I could just be going crazy :)

No Toogy, you arent going crazy. I notice the same thing, along with err99's.

I sent my camera to Canon for a look at. It left here with ver 1.1.0 and came back with ver 2.0. I want to go back to 1.1.0 because to me, that was better. There isnt anything in 2.0 that i need.

If anybody has a link to ver 1.1.0 that doesnt lead to 2.0, could you please post it.

Or if somebody out there would kindly be able to send it to me, that would be great. Still looking for it.

Thanks again for your time. ck

Just got done doing the downgrade, everything went smoothly. Will test out later this week to see if my noise/grain has improved.

Sorry I did try to send it, but the file is, I suspect, too big. I keep getting 'could not send message ' warning.

Glad you got the link :D Well done David!

So I'm guessing there is a problem somewhere with the new firmware update? Also I am guessing Canon will be coming out with another firmware fixit update. Thank goodness I didn't update mine. I was about to, but I'll pass till it has something I really need.

I never update be it computer or camera but my camera just came back from canon with update 2.0 on it and it is as slow as anything when I hook up the camera to the computer.

Thanks for the download.

I updated to 2.0 and my pictures look fantastic, no more noise than before.

If you have a complaint about the firmware, and have evidence that it introduced problems to your camera, you should contact Canon. They can't bring out a fixit update if they don't get complaints.

It looks like all of the support files for the 20D have been pulled off Canon's US site?

edit: Started a new thread on this.

Possibly stupid question here, but are you sure you have the power switch in the right position?

It needs to be all the way up (second click) pointing to the /-- looking thing. In just "On" the big wheel is locked out.

I'll bet that was it... good call mbellot

That is definitely NOT a firmware issue.

I hope they bring a new update out soon as I am getting loads of Err99 since I updated.

Under any particular conditions? e.g. single lens/all lenses, single mode/all modes?

I was using the BG-3 grip with 2 batteries in. A 70-200L 2.8 IS lens and shooting Al Servo.

Happened a few times in 1hrs photography. Happened again the following week, using same equipment. Haven't tried it with the 24-70 or 50mm lenses though.

Sometimes just switching off and on, fixes it. Other times, I take the batteries out and other times and wip the lens off and on.

Not sure why one works sometimes and not the other. To be fair I've actually not looked in the manual to see what the Err99 stands for (other than you can't anymore photos!!!)

Err99's a catch-all. Pretty much "An unexpected error has occurred". Was this just since the firmware upgrade?

Cassie

Interesting, I haven't had any problems either since the upgrade.;)

Try using the lens with IS turned off for a while and see if the problem goes away; Canon had a batch of 70-200 IS and 100-400 IS problems not terribly long ago; that could be what you're seeing.
