I live in England and will be travelling to the USA in June. I use a Canon 20D. Will I be able to charge the batteries over there? I know they use 110v and over here it's 240v. I won't blow it up will I??

Yes You can charge the batteries with no risk. But remember to bring an adaptor for the plug.

Thanks. I'll be able to give my full attention to driving on the wrong side of the road now!

Be sure to visit northern michigan, if you want to see some beautiful natural areas, and the great lakes....

As long as you have a voltage adapter you will be fine with your charger.
Where in the US are you going to? There are lots of us in the forum, and I would imagine quite a few of us can tell you good places to visit. :)

Hmmm.
The standard charger that came with my 20D is Canon CG-580. It takes 100-240 volts AC at 50 or 60 Hertz, and it has (what I call) a regular two-prong plug (North American style).

Sorry but You are wrong. The only thing required is an adaptor for the actual plug if the uk plug is different. As for voltage the charger can run on 100-240 volts.
