Here's the situation;

I'll be wearing two bodies, one with a 17mm and one with either 28-75 OR 70-200 at a wedding. One body will have my Sigma 500 Super on it and one will have my 420EX. I've had excellent results with my lumiquest pocketbouncer. However, wearing two bodies at the same time, I'm envisioning 2 pocket bouncers atop my flashes will be quite cumbersome. Would putting the Stofen omnibounce on one or the other instead of 2 pocket bouncers give comparable results in your experiences? I envision the Stofen being harsher light...I may buy both anyway.

Then, for the walk up the aisle has anyone placed a slave flash behind the subjects for a backlight/hairlight kind of effect? Results?

I just got back from a wedding this evening and I used 2-20d's with 580 flashes and the sto-fen on each.....I''ve been using sto-fen type things for over 30 years and nothing beats them.....by the way this wedding was a Black Bride & Groom and every exposure is dead on.....don

Cool... Thanks Don. Do you do any wireless flash work with weddings, using your 2 580's?

Hi Daniel -

I'm not a wedding photographer, but i was a guest at this wedding and I shot these pictures with an index card on my 550ex. (if you're interested in a cheaper option)

I had the flash mounted on a Stroboflip vh2000 for the verticals.

Very Nice shots! Perhaps, you should be a wedding photographer :)

Actually, the $20 for a bouncer or diffuser isn't a big deal... I don't think an index card taped to my flashes portrays a very professional image. I have no doubt that it works about the same as the lumiquest though.;)

I'm a wedding videographer and I see loads of Photographers using index cards in addtion to their sto-fen type flash caps. One of the most expensive Photographers in my market looks like a regular joe at weddings. His shots are great! The more simple you go, the better... I use a Index card on my Sigma 500... It does work well..
