just ordered one today and i thought i would tell you guys. ab 22" high output beauty dish with a sock diffuser. they have some in that have very minor scuff marks on the OUTSIDE SHELL. they are letting them go for 59.00

i called today and she told me about the special when i asked about the beauty dish line. she says they have a few of them

white produces a softer light. I know it comes with a sock but I like softer light.

Wonder if one can remove the Alienbees mount on the dish and mod it for say Bowens or Elinchrom mount, or even for flash?
Anybody have an idea on this? If we can only see how the back of it look like.

like I said, even if they do discontinue the white which I don't see why they would a little primer and paint will do the trick!

i just talked with the ab reps again. the original white 22r beauty dish is going to be discontinued i have attaced a link so you can see which one.
the honeycomb grid that fits the original 22r dish also filts the 22 high output dish thats on sale

FYI, Paul Buff stated on fred miranda that the white dish is not being discontinued. I wonder if they are going to get them made at a new factory or something?

i think what they meant is the existing white dish model is going to get discontinued and they are going to come out with a new white dish model (probably similar to the silver one in size and shape).

I really hope they are coming out with a new one. I'm about to purchase a couple AB800's and a large softbox. I want to purchase the BD too but don't have enough funds to cover it in one order.

But we will continue to sell either the classic white dish or a white version of the new BD as long as there is a demand for it.

Because I work at home I sometimes miss things the company upper management does that I am not aware of.
