Hey folks,

Here is a neophyte's attempt at exploring the awesomeness of Zero Noise (http://www.guillermoluijk.com/article/virtualraw/index_en.htm) by Guillermo Luijk. This shot is composed of two RAW files, 4 stops apart, combined into a single 16 bit TIFF in Zero Noise. The results were then tonemapped to death in PSCS4. The look may be a little too contrasty, but the latitude I had with the ZN-produced TIFF was really quite amazing. Also posted here are the two images that were used to make the single file. Essentially you get a very large dynamic range contained in a single 16 bit TIFF, with very little noise in the shadows, with preservation of sharp details - which is a good thing, especially with black boots in deep shadow.

This was really another hairbrained experiment designed to see how far into the shadows I could go and extract an image. Pretty freaking far!

Enjoy!
