Yes. Another thread.

It's been quite a while since I've gone "bag shopping", but due to ordering an oh-so back-ordered 5D2, I am in need of a bigger bag to fit all of my gear.
I currently have a Kata DR-465, and it's PERFECT for me, with my current gear.
BUT, with the 5D2, I will need a bigger bag for those occasions where I want\need to carry all of my gear..

Right now I'm looking at the Lowepro Vertex 200.
It is pretty big\roomy (very future proof), and it has a laptop compartment (for the laptop that I will be ordering in the next few months... hopefully...).

I am posting this, to see if there are any cheaper alternatives out there!
I will need it to hold:

-5D2 w/ Grip and 17-40L attached
-40D no grip, no lens.
-50mm f/1.4 USM
-85mm f/1.8 USM
-430EX
-Straps for tripod
-Laptop compartment is not a MUST, it's just an incredible bonus

I would also like some room to grow, seeing as how I will also be buying the 70-200 2.8 IS in the semi-near future (possibly at the same time as a\the laptop), and a 580EX II.... So I'd like the bag to have room for these two additions.

It would also be nice if I could squeeze in a 3rd body (EOS Elan II E) for those occasions where I might find the need\want to shoot film. But this isn't something that would make\break the deal...

Anyway, sorry for the long post... Thanks in advance for the help :)

I have the Vertex 200 and in my opinion it is worth the price. I looked long and hard to see if I can find something "similar" yet cheaper. If you can go to a store and inspect and compare one to other bags, you'll see what I mean. BTW it is a big bag and will definitely give you a lot of room to grow. Being that you now have your eye on it and t is now somehow the "standard", I wish you good luck in your search for an alternative bag :) Last time I checked, several Ebay vendors were selling these at slightly lower prices compared to our reg. favorite cam shops.

You should be able to fit all that, including 580ex, 70-200, laptop and elan IIE into the thinktank streetwalker hard drive. It's a bit cheaper than the vertex 200 as well. Something you should keep in mind, I'd recommend finding a local store that stocks both and trying them on to see how they feel.
