It was cold and creepy in there.

Water once ran through these caves, built by hand at the rate of one foot/day, to provide hydroelectric power to a fire hydrant factory.

Very good shots of an interesting place. I've visited your area and found lots of neat places.

Thanks sparker1. It was interesting. I wish I had the time to explore this myself, at my own pace. I was on a guided tour, and the pace was brisk.

Nice shots of an interesting place. It is hard to photograph a commercial cave on a tour. One thing that works is to have helpers along with you with slaved flashes. Better yet is to have experienced helpers that can quickly point the slaved flashes where you want. Taking really good photos underground takes lots of time for each shot.

I didn't even think to bother with flashes, settling with a fast prime and high ISO. It did occur to me that this would be a great spot to bring so serious lighting and set up some really dramatic shots. You'd have to be prepared to deal with all the water drips, though. Thanks for looking. Having a helper with the slaves is a great idea.
