Couple Newb Questions!

hello everyone. Just a couple questions i thought could be answered on this wonderful site.

1. Can i upload pictures directly from my pictures? if so, how?

2. What are the advantages of having an external flash compared to the one in my camera? (450d)

3. I have alot of babies being born in the family soon. will a nifty fifty be worth buying for some good shots? does it create more bokeh?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

1. Yes you can. Are your pictures online already on another website? If they are, you can copy the image location (right click on the image and select "copy image location") and then back here click on the http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif button above the text input area, right click in the dialogue box that appears and select paste. If your images are not online elsewhere then you need to upload them to the forum. Click on the "Go Advanced" button below the text input area and select "manage attachments. You will be able to upload 2 images that are constrained to a size of 1024 pixels on the longest side and 150kb.

2. The advantages are enormous. You get better control over the light, you can direct it, you can get it off the camera and pace it elsewhere. Many things you can do with an external flash that you cannot with the puny one on your camera.

3. Yes, the nifty is a great cheap lens.
