What the difference between :

- B+W 67mm Digital 486 UV-/IR-Blocking Filter
- B+W 67mm XS-PRO Digital MRC UV Haze 010M Filter #58458
- B+W 67mm MRC UV BRASS Filter F-PRO Multi-Coated # 70236
- B+W 67mm MRC UV 010 Filter NEW F-PRO Multi-Coated Alloy
- B+W 67mm UV 010 Haze Filter Coated NEW F-PRO

I just order a canon 100mm 2.8 L macro and would like the right filter.

The Digital 486 is a more aggressive filter than the others; it's decidedly overkill. The XS-Pro is a "slim" filter for use with wide angle lenses. You don't need that for the 100 mm macro, especially on a 40D. Teh 5th doesn't mention B+W's multicoating MRC, which reduces flare or reflections from the filter. So that leaves the two F-PRO MRC UV 010 filters, one with brass and the other with an aluminum alloy for the threaded ring. And there, it's largely your preference. Some believe that brass is less likely to seize on lenses than the aluminum alloy FWIW.
