this is really cool! nice composition and color. excellent shot (and cute kid too)!

a small note: the vignetting is pretty severe. which lens/filter (if any) did you use?

Thank you. That's my son. I used the 50mm f/1.4, no filters. The vignetting was deliberately added. It is just a preference thing.

I like the color and composition. The yellow shirt plays well against the brick.

Is this the budding photographer?

ANyone see a bird in the second pic?

That would be the rare and seldom photographed nose bird I believe.

It was a once in a lifetime spotting. Seriously, I don't know what gets into that kid. First it was shots of feet, then shots of a posed stuffed llama in peculiar places around the house. Now he is doing these self portraits. Oh, to be a kid again....

Anymore impressions on this one?

I like the vignetting gives it that Holga processed look.

This is a very appealing image.
As stated before, the color, composition, expression on the family hambone's (:-)) face is dead on.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks, everyone. We all like pics of our kids, and I am usually reluctant to post mine. This one seemed just different enough, just nice enough, to put up. When we pulled in to the parking lot, my jaw dropped when I saw this spot. I knew I could make something work. Confidence does so much for all your endeavors.

Very very nice shot! Quite a departure from the usual kid shot. Great job!

Agree. Love the composition, and the color of the t-shirt is spot on. Your son has a very nice smile.

Really like the image :D

Composition, colour, his pose and the idea to sit on the parking stop thingy ... very nice!

Thanks for sharing.

His self portrait is clearly in another league.
Obviously you lack the basic artistic qualities to appreciate its message, content and execution:wink:

Best regards,
Andy

It's just the back of a very old house adjacent to the Holiday Inn's parking lot. Buffalo is weird that way - old, new, old, new....
