Rapid Transit!!

This is my first post!:cool: I took these with a 20D and a 100-400L. Location is the mouth of the Salmon River as it enters the Snake River in Hell's Canyon. The Rapid is "The Eye of the Needle", the boat is a Duckworth Magnum.:D

Wow pretty wild! I expected to see a raft on a river like that. Good shots.

WOW! That looks pretty dangerous, :shock: and that boat looks to be in pretty good shape.
So either the boat is new, or the pilot is pretty danged GOOD. ;)

Yes, we did go there on purpose, in fact he ran that rapid 4 times to get a few pictures. Our trip took us 65 miles, one way into Hell's Canyon. Our turn around spot was Kirkwood Bar. This area can't be discribed in words!! That is why we take pictures, right?:D I think it's time to buy another 1gig card. BRC

I Lived in Idaho for 18 years and never made it to the river boat races. Looks like a lot of fun!

Here are a couple of picture I took at the World Series Jetsprint Series in Spokane Washington. The race track was built in the in-field of the Play Fair horse racing track. Yes, that is grass next to the boats!:cool: These are from slide film, scanned with a canoscan2700 filmscanner.
