I don't know if you were wanting the grainy feel to the first shot...but personally (as nothing is moving the frame) I would drop the ISO rating down as far as you can and go for a longer exposure instead.
Shot 1 is nicely composed, but IMHO could do with a little creative cropping. I like the colours of the second shot...but the moon doesn't look real to me (apologies if this is how it really was!!)

The first shot was on my way home, i seen this farm and took the shot , i no what you mean about grain but i didnt have a tripod with me so had to up the iso and took it hand, held although resting on a gate post, the second pic the moon was there but burnt out, so it left white hole so to speak, so had to photochop it to put some thing there, and your right it dont look to real :-) but better than nothing [maybe], anyways thanks for your observations and comments it allways helps one to improve

I like them, although I'm not so sure cutting across the moor during a full moon is such a good idea.

Real moon or not, the second is a really good shot. The first doesn't move me.

Hi ro1
Well let me say i to [i would say that lol] like the first one best but wanted to show both to see peoples reactions, the reason being that i was there and the mood was lonley and desolate and when you edit at home afterwards you try and capture that feeling, this is what i tried to do, the only warmth in this shot is the lights in the cottage windows that add to me a touch of welcome to a truly cold looking place, the second shot was taken on a very very cold evening yet conveys a warmth about it that wasnt realy there, thats why the moors shot for me works, i managed to put on screen what i had in my head and was pleased with the resulting photo, we all see things differently thats whats photographys all about, anyways, here i go rambling on,
thanks for your comments much appreciated

Martin,
Great shots - I'll say I like the first too and I feel the grain works well and doesn't really look out of place. (my own opinion others may not agree)
Well done

I prefer the first also. That is so difficult to meter for, and you got it just right.
