They're hard to take in completely because of their size. I have a 15.4 widescreen laptop monitor set at 1680x1050, and I still have to scroll left and right...

Here they are again smaller…

some great shots there, however the one of the round exiting the barell looks....faked. Sorry if it isn't but the way there seems to be just a stream in a pefect line out of the barrell rather than the complete width of the barrel (notice how thats the third different spelling of barel, like to cover all bases) i love the one of the round spatting on the hopper though, i have been hit in the head with these things, they make you flinch somewhat when they are that close to the face.

look forward to seeing more

<however the one of the round exiting the barell looks....faked>
Wow I must say this quite a compliment! To suggest that one of my photos is so good that it must be faked…you have really made my day! THANKS!!!

I have very little experience with photo shop, it very complex for me, I only wish I knew how to make fake shots like this because it would save me from getting all those bruises and camera hits.
When you take thousands of pictures with a really fast camera such as an EOS 1D you are bound to get some good ones of the paintballs in mid flight…

WOW. I have done paintballing twice and loved it. Want to go again now. I love the head shot in the last pic - great timing and ouchhh! Thanks for sharing. And the second lot were a little big again - hard to see on slow connections.

WOW!!!! These are amazing!!! Fanatastic job, do you have anymore? :)

I want so badly to play speedball like that! Looks like so much fun. I usually play every once in a while with a bunch of my friends. We take our Tippmann A-5's and blast each other away in the woods. It's quite the rush!

The highlight reflection is what is causing the off center streak.

I use to play paintball and was great at it with my intimidator... but now im older and photography is for me...

The splatters look awesome and it looked like the paint hit the guys strap in the head shot dso hopefully it didnt hurt as much... damn lol

the so called Faked pic isnt fake... at a high velocity (200-300fps) paint goes VERY VERY quickly through the air... and since the ball is mostly gelatin and paint i wouldnt be surprised if i saw a pic with the ball completely stopped and it wasnt warped...

You have to try it to believe it!

Great shots again...

Yes it very hard to take photos with a paintball mask on. They are very hot and frequently splattered with paint that gets all over your camera. Here are a couple photos of me and one our setups.

No actually our next event is Bear’s Cup at Hollywood Sports in Southern California then it on to Paris France to cover the Millennium European Paintball 7 Man World Cup event in July. Then we are off to Denver for the NPPL for Zap Paintball. To top it off I just heard from Splat Magazine, they just purchased 19 of my pictures to use in next months Scenario edition!
Here are some LAW Rocket Launchers from some recent scenario games

Amazing shots! Congrats on the mag purchasing your photo's. :)

Looks like your pretty well protected while your out on the feild. Even your camera is rapped. That's stink though if you got shot in the neck while taking pics. That ever happen to ya?

Usually the camera protects my neck, but sometimes I do get hit in the back of the neck. And since those are unexpected they really hurt. I am currently looking for some kind of shoulder protection

RbrtPtikLeoSeny
6th of June 2005 (Mon), 09:55
I sometimes use lacrosse equiptment. Haven't played in a while, but I use to use lacrosse shoulder pads and a rangers vest loaded with card board as protection. Worked really well when playing with my friends, who would intentionally shoot each other from 2ft away just because they liked to make each other scream in pain. Always hated taking shots to the shoulder blade area and the neck. Ouch!

Nice shots! Some really great action shots in there!

I really love the ones with the guy in the clown mask! Fierce!

I hope you have your camera well insured though!

Glad you took my comment as a compliment and not offensivly, fabulous shots, My Father was involved with bringing paintball into England and the many weekends we spent taking photo's, for his book. It seems if these guys see you have a camera and not a gun you cant shoot back so it is open season, the e quipment was much slower then so rarely got shots like that, i really like them

Greetings danccooke,
I have been asked to submit photos for a possible photo book on paintball so I would be very interested to hear about your father's book. Is it exculssively paintball? Where do I find it?
You can e-mail me a photo@paintballphotography.com or respond here for all to see <g>.
Thanks

The book was written/published in 1992 when the legal limit for paintball velocity 180fps as oppose to the now 300fps which is a hell of a lot faster, so it covers paintball from the early stages in the UK, ISBN number 0706370732 Author Richard Cooke
you can get it at amazon still, for probably only a few dollars, ironically at the time it was lauched it was being bought mainly in guerilla warfare countries and people were using the tactics in real warfare. There is a funny anecdote about the launch of the book but i will spare you that.
