Hey, that's what counts, having fun. You learn as you go. Not bad shots at all. The girl in the yellow shirt came out really nice. Good use of existing reflected light.

Congratulations on your first purchase. Just keep shooting and you'll improve in no time. And of course look at lots and lots of photos(especially with the internet and google).

1) I think the horse can be sharper(it doesn't look completely focused), but I like the angle you took.

2) I know it's not easy, but try to get in there a little more. When i first looked at the photo, I didn't know what was going on. It took me a few seconds. The subject is a chess game, and that's difficult to see there. Get a higher angle if you want the wide perspective then(which would likely mean get closer).

3) My favorite of yours. I like the angle, the lighting, the colors, and the lines. It's a good idea you were bouncing on. I think you need to meter on the subject a little more, because it seems as if she's a little overexposed(a tad).

4) Remember to meter the subjects. That's difficult but it looks like it took a metering of the overall situation. Watch out for those pockets of light versus dark. They can really screw up your sensor. You can see the boy is exposed correctly, because the metering took that area, but the girl and the ball are underexposed. And get closer, to capture the emotion on the two children. They are the key to the photo. The expressions make or break this photo.
