I have a flipside 300 on the way for lugging a bunch of stuff. I am considering a Slingshot 100 AW as my quick go-to bag. I want to carry my 7D with a 28-135 for taking quick shots.
Does anyone know if that would fit? Have any thoughts on other bags I should look at?

crumpler million dollar home bags? Maybe a 5mdh if you only want to carry your 7d and 28-135

Look at the Domke F-3x or F-802. To be honest, if I only have one camera nd lens I don't usually use a bag. It's only if I have some extra junk like a flash or several lenses that I use one.

Think Tank Rotation 360. (http://www.rotation360.com) I never have to take it off to change to my long zoom or to add flash. They're both in the bottom compartment which swings around to the front.
Not many here seem willing to spend the extra money for the convenience of this great bag. I hand the camera from the shoulder straps which distributes the weight.

Domke F4AF or J3, depending on where I'm going.

Mine is a Lowepro Slingshot 200. Fits my 5D + 24-105 and 580EXII nicely, with 3 more "slots" to fit other things as needed (flashes, lenses, etc).
For my Nikon kit (OMG the horror!), I have an older-model Tamrac Velocity 6, that fits my D50 + Sigma 18-125 + Nikkor nifty-fifty.

Thanks for all the info. I picked up a slingshot 200 aw. So far I'm really enjoying it. I like the security of something that sits on your back. The slingshot held way more than I was expecting. Will be testing it more thoroughly in the coming days.

For one body and lens, Lowepro Top loader.
For two bodies with lens (40D + 15-50, 40D + 85 1.8) then I use the Lowepro Rezo 180 (I think that is the #) Just tried it out this past weekend and also carried a flash on the inside and tokina 10-17 in the outside pocket. Was very impressed.

6MDH if i am out for the entire day. Usually pack a bottle of water and some granola bars to bring along
or RS-5 strap if I am walking on campus or just walking here and there. It holds all my personal things, keys, money, extra cards quite nicely. Very comfortable

The 6mdh is a perfect walk around bag.

In case you don't know, you can rearrange the entire inside padding so that you can access everything just from the side opening. Check out these pictures to get an idea of how it works:

I just use my Domke F-5XB? I think. It's just big enough for my 5D2 and 24-70 with hood reversed and that's it. I grab that when I don't need more. If I need more, I have the F-802. That is my favorite bag.

I have a Flipside 200 and that carries a body, flash and 3 lenses. I use that every time I go out. It feels comfortable and secure. Change lenses and getting stuff in and out is pretty fast.

Billingham hadley pro, I like the stealth look and offer great protection.

For one body and one lens I use a think tank digital holster.
But honestly speaking, I've never been a situation where it's only been one camera and one lens ;)
My go to bag is my Billingham Hadley Pro, got one used at a great price the condition doesn't bother me. I actually feel they look better slightly beat up! I carry around with me the "raincoat" which came together with my Think Tank Urban Disguise just in case we get into some stormy weather.
In the bag I usually take with me my camera plus grip, 2 lenses and maybe a flash.
These days however, since I discovered the Think Tank modular system, this is what I use all the time! My only concern is wet weather because the modular components can't store the Camera with lens attached unless I strap a digital holster on. For ease of us, speed and comfort the modular is the way to go.

I now have a two-bag combo that works very nicely: a Flipside 300 for when I need more stuff, and a Slingshot 100 for when I want to take less.
The Flipside is awesome - it holds a lot of gear, plus a tripod or monopod, and is very comfortable to carry, even for a whole day. And I love the "flip" feature; I can change lenses without taking the bag off. Very convenient. However, it's also fairly big, so for outings when less gear is needed, I take the Slingshot 100. I tried the 200 and didn't like it - it wasn't comfortable to carry fully loaded, made my shoulder ache. The backpack system works better for me with a full load of gear. However, the much smaller Slingshot 100 is terrific for quick outings. It will take my 40D with lens attached, plus up to two additional lenses and my flash unit. With one extra lens and flash, there's loads of room and I can carry it all day, no problems. And it's weatherproof, plus has a compartment for snacks and a raincoat.

Depends on where I'm walking.

any average satchel makes a good low profile bag to carry just a camera/lens combo on the go. When i am near home i carry one camera and lens at the ready in a lowepro toploader bag. its quick and easy. out in unfamiliar surroundings i like the low profile of a regular "man-bag" satchel

Everyday walkaround bag: Timbuk 2 medium messenger with Tenba/Domke Modiverse DIY camera insert.
Holds my 5D w/grip and 50mm attached. Room for my everyday commuter stuff and another lens or flash.
